Exceeding Expectations
At Ambuck Services, most of our decks are built on posts that exceed industry standards. Our pressure treated deck board is all number 1 meaning less and smaller knots which adds strength. We screw in our deck boards, spindles and rail tops with deckmate screws which protect against warping and more than doubles the overall strength, plus you won’t have to worry about stubbing your toe. We use hardware that will not rust or corrode, and thick flashing on the ledger board- the area that connects the deck to the house.
We gap all our decking boards which many contractors say is not necessary because the board will naturally shrink and though that is partially true, the problem lies with the fact that a small portion of the boards won’t shrink. That can cause water to puddle which shrinks the life expectancy of staining and can cause eventual board rotting.
After your wooden deck and railings are installed, we finish it with two solid coats of stain. We only use premium stains designed for heavy use and harsh elements. Most of the stain jobs we do keep their appeal for about 5 year until needing more maintenance on most All of our stains are brushed on for a better appearance and application.
